An Ode To My Childhood Home
An Ode To My Childhood Home
An empty house near the foot hills,
Where this adult infant stood still!
When chances arise,
I’ll see my childhood home, again!
The sad view…
Recalls once well-lived!
The grand roof top,
With all the memories trapped within!
Great many years of paradise
Where, I lost my loved ones.
In the deepest darkest past!
In the dark,
When the lights are off;
The strangers lay still,
Ravaging the cabinets
Snooping the crevices.
Years of struggle,
An Answer to my prayers,
Came back to my hands!
The scent of my home!
Which
Stayed forever, forever with me!
Within the four walls
The work of family architect!
Unpainted walls - holds deep
Of the memories past!
The voice of my love,
Sealed in that attic!!
Resentment of my silent pain
How could others can’t see?
What I see???
The place : for the magic it did to me!
The place that I grew!
The Red door is completely
Locked!
But, I constantly run through it
A hundred times!!!
To get away from it,
FAR, far away - NOT planning to return!
But, seemingly come back
Each time…when the roads END!
Those weary things,
Holds my stain.
Dull and full, can tell
One heck of a story!!
Withering steel stairways
Slowly unravels of what
TIME has done to me!
When I cry myself to sleep
Closing the eyes…completely shut;
Deep down in the dark…
When none could find NOTHING!
Yet…I could unleash my stigma
To reach the knobs & feel the slabs!
An hour before dawn…
The time, I usually overcome memories!
The Pain seeps in,
Looking for my Mom, Dad and Brother!
Is it ONLY me?????
Just — ME??
Against this whole world
Now?
What am I going to do???
How could every new experience
Override the past?
What kind of amnesia is that?
No matter what I do
The places I go..,
Why would I keep coming back
To my own square one — HOME.
Home - is where I belong
When nothing I own, belongs to me!
Why would it be my “Home”?
Maybe that’s the only place…
In this world - I could call as
“Home”.
The place that have sealed
my childhood life!
Well-preserved and immortalized
Just for me.
My childhood home,
I’ll see it again!
A saddening view!
As memory fogs my brain,
There is a pleasure in it too!
Everything was right, here.
ONCE!
I could fix it, I Think!!
Stop it! Stop the time!!
Just…let me go…
I’ll make everything right!
…all over, ONCE AGAIN!!!
